  • Bows not mana efficient (path quest choice can make a difference)
  • Bows often not used when in a group
  • Damage not as good as other melee classes
  • Self only buffs don't help group
  • Hard to get groups
Creation Tips:   Rangers are good characters to play but are one of the weaker melee classes making it more important than ever to play one well. Rangers are masters of the bow but you must learn to balance using a bow (and your bow abilities) with using regular melee weapons for sustained damage. There are a LOT of rangers playing and they have gotten a bad reputation because of that. Rangers can put out a large amount of damage that equals that of other melee classes, but usually not for prolonged periods of time.

The Primary stats for a Ranger are Agility and Dexterity, but Strength Stamina and Wisdom are also important for a Ranger. Strength is for melee damage and Stamina for Hit Points. Wisdom is needed for your bow (ranged attacks), determining how often you hit (and thusly how much damage you can do). This is what makes creating a good Ranger, you have 5 stats to put training points into. It is also important to know what you will do with your character (i.e. how much you will use your bow) so you can better allocate your points (a.k.a. not putting as many points into Wisdom unless really needed).
